Bilgin Yachts Splashes Second 52m Hull NB83 in Antalya

Dec 26, 2025 | Yachting News

The Turkish shipyard continues its rapid production pace with the technical launch of NB83, a sub-500 GT superyacht designed by Unique Yacht Design and Hot Lab.

Bilgin Yachts has successfully launched the second unit of its 52-meter Bilgin 170 series, known as NB83, at its Antalya facility. Following closely on the heels of the first hull, Tamasha, which launched in October, this event underscores the shipyard’s operational efficiency and the growing popularity of this specific size segment. The project was sold to a first-time client in late 2023 and is scheduled for delivery in early 2026.
Built on a proven semi-custom platform derived from the Bilgin 163, the 170 series offers distinct advantages in exterior styling and volume. Exterior naval architecture is penned by Emrecan Özgün of Unique Yacht Design, who focused on maximizing outdoor living spaces to rival those typically found on 60-meter vessels. Notable design evolutions include a more traditional bow shape—distinct from the 163—which provides increased deck space forward and a sleeker, more settled profile. The vessel features an extended bridge deck that adds 1.5 meters of aft living space, enhancing the flow between indoor and outdoor environments. Technical refinements are also evident, with the inclusion of oversized gangways and a dedicated garbage room in the bow—features generally reserved for significantly larger yachts. These additions reflect a production-led approach where feedback from previous builds is rapidly integrated into new hulls.
Interior design is helmed by the Milan-based studio Hot Lab. The layout remains consistent with the series’ platform, accommodating up to 12 guests in six staterooms, including a bridge-deck owner’s suite. However, the finish and detailing of NB83 have been heavily customized to the owner’s preferences. Hot Lab’s Enrico Lumini emphasized a focus on “intelligent layering” of materials rather than simple color palettes, aiming to create a warm, textured environment that feels both modern and timeless.
Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, the steel-hulled displacement yacht is expected to achieve a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. With a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles at cruising speed, the Bilgin 170 is designed for genuine long-range capabilities. The yacht will now undergo final outfitting and sea trials in Antalya before her scheduled handover. Intelligence synthesized from international maritime reports.
