Mishi Yachts unveils new Mishi 88 and Mishi 102 models, constructed with carbon-composite.

New Sailing Brand Launched by Turkey’s Yonca Shipyard: Mishi Yachts

The respected Yonca Shipyard in Turkey has stirred up the yachting industry with the launch of their new sailing brand, Mishi Yachts. The brand is gaining attention for its emphasis on carbon-composite sailing yachts that are longer than 24 meters. Mishi Yachts has introduced its initial two models, the Mishi 88 and Mishi 102, designed to be a harmonious mix of power, elegance, and the sort of comfort typically associated with motoryachts.

The Dive of Yonca Shipyard into the Leisure Market

Yonca Shipyard, with its 38 years of experience in composite boatbuilding, is branching out into the leisure market via Mishi Yachts. This fresh brand is intended for those seeking roomy and comfortable sailing yachts, perfect for family and group trips.

The Mishi 88 yacht first showcased itself at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. Its spacious design and remarkable cabin height gained significant attention. Built originally in 2019 for Şakir Yılmaztürk, Yonca Shipyard’s founder and Chairman, the yacht was designed with family voyages as a foremost consideration. Its warm acceptance from brokers at the festival reflected a high appetite for such capacious sailing yachts.

The Mishi 88: An Example of Space and Luxury

In cooperation with Taka Yacht Design, Yılmaztürk dreamt of incorporating the luxuries of motor yachting into the elegant structure of a sailing boat. The outcome is the Mishi 88, a yacht that astonishes with its abundant interior space and exceptional ceiling height below deck.

The Mishi 88 is characterized by a secure, roomy cockpit equipped with a carbon-fiber bimini for protected al fresco dining. The interior is designed with a spacious lounge with versatile dining and relaxation spaces, adjustable tables, and a connected kitchen area. The yacht’s design comprises of a sizeable owner’s suite located at the front, more accommodations for guests beyond the lounge with customizable sleeping options, crew living spaces in the frontmost part, and a large storage space for a dinghy at the rear.

The interior design can be personalized according to the owner’s preferences. For instance, the Mishi 88 showcases a classic colour combination of light greys and beiges, augmented by changeable lighting to create different ambiances. Useful features like abundant handholds and large fiddles on surfaces are seamlessly integrated throughout the interior.

The Mishi 102: A Sneak Peek into the Future

Motivated by the achievement of the Mishi 88, Yılmaztürk went on to create a bigger model, known as the Mishi 102. This outstanding 102-foot yacht is scheduled for unveiling at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2024. Fully meeting RINA classification, the Mishi 102 is anticipated to incorporate advanced technology, first-class engineering, and luxurious living spaces for eight guests and four crew members.

Both Mishi yachts are built using a foam sandwich carbon composite, a substance that guarantees efficient and durable hulls with ample internal space. This building method comes from the experience of Yonca Shipyard in creating swift, lightweight patrol boats, offering an extraordinary living experience on water.

The Heritage of Boatbuilding at Yonca Shipyard

Ever since it was founded in 1986, Yonca Shipyard has pursued to be at the forefront of high-speed boat design and advanced composite development. What initially started as making handmade boats with a forward-thinking perspective, has now expanded into a large-scale industry. The shipyard has successfully delivered more than 180 ships and boats, primarily focusing on swift interceptor vessels and patrol boats for defense and security forces.

Mishi Yachts signifies a fresh phase for Yonca Shipyard, where its highly-regarded history of meticulousness and superiority in constructing boats persistently progresses and caters to the high-end sailing yacht market.
